Alastair Lee is the Managing Director of AlumGrow Consultancy and a senior leader in the field of education advancement. As an expert in community engagement, he launched AlumGrow in 2020 with the goal of creating fully self-sustainable, advancement-driven education systems that enhance access to quality education for students from diverse backgrounds.
With a global profile and an impressive track record of multi award-winning work, Alastair has set industry standards in fundraising strategies, alumni relations, and marketing. Throughout his nearly three-decade career in education advancement, he has built ambitious, sustainable community engagement programs and developed extensive national and international networks, launching high-performing advancement operations across various institutions.
His outstanding contributions have been recognized with multiple awards, including the prestigious Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Gold Award for excellence in alumni relations. Alastair has held executive leadership positions in advancement at Deakin University, the University of Tasmania, Sacré Cœur, and Tintern Grammar, where he was instrumental in launching and establishing Deakin University’s advancement program.
Before entering the realm of advancement leadership, Alastair practiced as a Barrister & Solicitor, which provides him with valuable insight when advising educational institutions and not-for-profit organizations on governance, risk management, contracts, and strategic partnerships. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics) and a Bachelor of Laws from Deakin University, as well as a Diploma of Viticulture from TAFE SA.
